Inspired by a show piece choreographed by my dance teacher, Declan Magennis, “Lovely Madness” is a strikingly simple yet elegant design showcasing my love for Irish dance. A great dancer is strong and powerful yet light on their feet, represented by the outwards spikes along the skirt and the upper chest of my dress. With a modern cotton bodice filled with black sequins and little amounts of crystals, the whiter areas stick out from the perspective of the crowd, catching the eye of not only the adjudicators, but everyone engulfed in its simplicity. Enhanced with green hearts, and gemmed with gold asymmetrical crystals, “Lovely Madness” is the perfect balance between unique, bold, and effortlessly one of a kind.
