Irish Dancing Magazine is excited to honor young choreographers and announce the champions of Camp Rince Ceol's Shamrock Shuffle, a contest promoted in Irish Dancing Magazine’s March ’23 edition.
Creative dancers worldwide, eagerly choreographed their own step with the hopes of winning an all-inclusive week's stay along with seeing their step performed at the beloved summer dance camp.
Nora Grassi, pictured below, from the Beglan Academy, Wisconsin, USA won the Grand Prize with her inventive choreography.
Nora's love for Irish Dance began at the young age, while Claire Theeman from the Bernadette Short School of Irish Dance in Quebec, Canada won the People's Choice Award, an award which recognized the entry with the highest number of online votes.
Nora's Grand Prize-winning step impressed the CRC team with its creativity and teachability, making it a perfect fit for the camp. Nora's family shares the story of her dance journey and the profound impact it has had on her. Witnessing Irish Dance at Milwaukee's Irish Fest inspired Nora, leading her to embrace Irish Dance as an integral part of her identity. When Nora discovered the Shamrock Shuffle contest, she eagerly submitted her own dance video, not expecting to win the grand prize of an all-inclusive week's stay at Camp Rince Ceol.
Nora's reaction to learning she won this year's Grand Prize was priceless.
