My design was inspired by a love for Irish mythology and Irish dancing .Been a past dancer myself I always had an interest in Irish myths and legends like the Children of Lir .They are important to our culture too and hence the inspiration for the design.I wanted to combine the 2 by incorporating the Children of Lir a legend with links to my locality into my dress.It was on the glittering shores that the children were doomed to spend hundreds of years as swans .The design shows the swans flying up from the water into a sky of twinkling stars .
