This dress incorporates both traditional and modern elements. I chose red as one of the main accent colours as it represents my nationality (Canadian) and is my favourite and lucky colour. The tara brooch symbol is traditional to irish culture, so I chose to represent not only Irish dancing because of the dress itself, but also the symbolism and meaning of its culture. The one shoulder asymmetrical design draws the eye to the dress and makes it stand out, while also being kept simple and elegant with the pearls. I also customized the dress by adding the first letter of my name on the sleeves and my name (to be inserted) on the back, making it unique to me.
